Bringing together two of his great passions, people and business, Steve Coplon started Coplon Development Company to build communities where people could enjoy life and their neighbors.

Pelican Pointe Village in Elizabeth City, NC is an active 55+ community where Steve says, "We're building a nice community, one neighbor at a time."

Steve is no stranger to building communities and businesses. He helped make Cruise International into a $100 million company. As President of the Spirit of Norfolk Dinner Boat organization, he delivered a product that people enjoyed. He understands what people want and delivers it.

With his partners, Steve spearheaded the revitalization of Taylors Landing Marine Center, one of the anchor companies involved in the rebirth of Norfolk's Ocean View area. As a member of the Mayor's Taskforce for Ocean View, he created a quality product that was enthusiastically received – he will do the same for Pelican Pointe Village.

He is also a financial consultant with Capital Financial Group in Norfolk, helping people achieve financial security for their businesses and their families.

Steve also finds time to teach Sunday School, take dance lessons with his wife Donna, and teach karate at the YMCA. Recently Steve was honored by the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce with the TowneBank Award for Small Business Achievement, "for exceptional dedication to advancing the region's economy through entrepreneurship and achievement."
